  • Jeff Robbins

    Jeff Robbins is the CEO and co-founder. He has over 30 years of high-tech product development and business experience. Jeff has held technical and management positions in both large and small companies as well as technology start-ups including a successful listing on the NASDAQ. He has been involved in a variety of businesses from mission-critical enterprise applications to hand-held devices and financial transaction systems. Jeff's interest has always been on human interface design and making products which are deceptively easy to use and hide their complexity. He is passionate about creating innovative products which meet real customer needs and has a deep personal interest in enhancing safety at sea. Jeff and his wife lived aboard their boat for ten years and have sailed across the Pacific twice from North America.

  • Carl Omundsen

    Carl Omundsen is one of the founders of the Company and its Chief Engineer. He manages the team designing and developing the product portfolio and his vision coupled with deep technical knowledge and skill has been instrumental in the Company’s success. Carl has a passion for design and innovation across all segments of the product development life cycle, from design for manufacturability right through to the end user experience. Prior to helping create Vesper Marine, Carl was a Senior Design Engineer at Commtest Instruments and founded Embedit, an electronics design consultancy. He received his first class honors degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at the University of Canterbury. Carl is an enthusiastic sailor and you'll likely find him out on the water with family, friends and co-workers taking the newest Vesper Marine products through their paces.

  • Matt Crockett

    Matt Crockett is a senior executive with substantial management and governance experience in both corporate and early stage technology businesses. He brings deep strategic and commercial capabilities along with practical experience in organizing and operating for performance and growth. He is currently the Chief Executive of the Heavy Building Products Division at Fletcher Building. Previously he was the Chief Turnaround Officer at Telecom New Zealand, the CEO of Telecom Wholesale & International, and Chief Development Officer for APN News and Media overseeing APN Digital Ventures, and Corporate Strategy and Technology. Matt holds advanced degrees in Finance and Organizational behavior from Oxford University. Matt is a keen free diver and spearfisherman, diving from East Cape to the Three Kings, with the outer Hauraki Gulf islands as his main playground.

  • Anatole Masfen

    Anatole Masfen is the co-founder of Artemis Capital, a private equity investment firm based in Auckland. Anatole brings to Vesper Marine significant experience as an investment manager. He is involved in many diverse business interests in areas including healthcare, energy, food and beverage and IT infrastructure. Anatole graduated from Auckland University with a MCom in Finance and Economics. He spent seven years at Air New Zealand and Ansett Australia in various roles in Pricing and Revenue Management where he was responsible for systems and process implementation which continue to drive the profitability of Air New Zealand today. Anatole is an internationally competitive sailor (look for him at the Etchells World Championship) and affectionately known to his friends as the “The Weather Giant” reflecting his keen interest in weather forecasting combined with his 6 foot 7 inch stature.

  • Paul Davidson

    Paul Davidson has worked since 1999 as a strategic investor, adviser and director in early and expansion stage technology focused companies in Europe and New Zealand. Common to all the companies he works with is a strong drive to deliver long term value to both the businesses and their customers. Paul had a successful career as an investment banker and risk manager in the City of London. As well as holding degrees from Cambridge University and the University of Westminster, he has a doctorate in computational economics and is a member of the Institute of Directors and the New Zealand Society for Risk Management. Look for Paul sailing his new Hanse yacht somewhere in the Hauraki Gulf. You'll find him on your AIS, of course.
